45th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration (2018)

When we reflect on Dr. King's legacy of nonviolent activism, what does violence and nonviolence look like in 2018?  Where does racial violence truly lie today?  And in a time when the very nature of violence is up for debate, can the methods and values of Dr. King still help us forge a path forward toward racial justice?

The Seattle Colleges held their 45th Annual Community Celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. on Friday, January 12, from noon to 1:30pm at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Seattle.  Keynote speaker for the event is Ijeoma Oluo, author of "So You Want to Talk About Race."

SCCtv will broadcast on television (Comcast Channel 28/Wave Channel 19/CenturyLink Channel 8005/CenturyLink HD Channel 8505) the entire event beginning Sunday, January 14, at a time 7:00PM. It will show every Sunday at a time 7:00PM through the month of February.
