45th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration (2018)

NONVIOLENCE in a VIOLENT World

When we reflect on Dr. King's legacy of nonviolent activism, what does violence and nonviolence look like in 2018?  Where does racial violence truly lie today?  And in a time when the very nature of violence is up for debate, can the methods and values of Dr. King still help us forge a path forward toward racial justice?

The Seattle Colleges held their 45th Annual Community Celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. on Friday, January 12, from noon to 1:30pm at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Seattle.  Keynote speaker for the event is Ijeoma Oluo, author of "So You Want to Talk About Race."
